We had a fantastic time performing At the museum and the audiences enjoyed learning about the natural world and meeting Roger the otter

and his furry friends

Hello my name is Jane Leakey and I live in in Somerset

I created Fat Cat in 1999 after touring the UK with a number of children's theatre companies

I am a natural performer and storyteller and am excellent at communicating in a fun and relaxed way whilst at the same time delivering a highly professional show. I believe that the best way for children to learn is while they are having fun

I write and research all my shows and also make my own puppets. If i am making an animal I try to study it in the wild if possible

I have been commissioned to write and perform shows by various organisations including  Somerset County Council Adoption Services, Natural England, the Brewhouse Theatre  and the Natural History Musem. I also am a professional director

As a wildlife photographer and conservationist I travel the world looking after endangered species, including gorillas and chimpanzees in Cameroon, elephants in Thailand and big cats and baboons in Namibia. As part of my work I give illustrated talks about my travels, to both adults and children

If you have a project in mind that you think I could help you with, please feel free to contact me. I can write you a puppet show or devise a new drama, puppet or mask workshop. or give an inspirational talk about puppets or my work with wildlife.  No project is too large or small
